Steve Carkner, B.A.Sc, P.Eng. - President

Steve’s products have won dozens of awards and been featured in Popular Science, at the Smithsonian Institute of Technology and at the Canadian Science and Technology Museum. Steve started his first design consulting business in 1984, spent almost a decade as the director of project development at Research In Motion (RIM) and founded Intectus in 2002. Steve is listed as an inventor on dozens of patents internationally, is a founder of Canada’s National Angel Organization and was one of the youngest elected representatives to the Professional Engineers Association of Ontario (PEO).

Steve possesses and unusual blend of technical know-how, hands on ability and business acumen that have allowed him to build several successful companies and to invest in many  others.

Greg Bridgett - VP Business Operations

Greg gained almost 10 years of business development and project management experience at Research In Motion (RIM). A graduate of engineering from the University of Waterloo, Greg brings his talents as a bridge builder between the often conflicting needs of Business needs versus technical realities.

Mike McDonnell - Quality Management Systems and Compliance Manager

Mike brings years of experience from medical companies such as World Heart (Director of Manufacturing) and Florosense (G.M.) to the role of Intectus' QMS and Compliance manager. His experience dealing with regulatory and compliance hurdles in bringing products to market is an invaluable asset to Intectus' management team.

Ahmed Abdelsamie, C.E.T. - Manufacturing Manager

With more than 15 years of experience in electronic design, layout, mechanical design and manufacturing, Ahmed brings a wealth of product production experience to Intectus. Ahmed is a Certified Proffessional Manufacturer (Egypt) and is also a Certified Engineering Technologist (Canada).

Jamie Risk, B.A.Sc. - Director Software Development

Jamie has spent most of his career at small startup companies helping guide the development process of a wide variety of products.
